A Note From the Principal

October 4, 2026

Dear Piney Woods Elementary Families,

We have 5 full days of learning and instruction ahead of us before we enjoy a wonderful Fall Break!  I am so proud of the hard work our students have been putting in each day. They are learning, growing, and making memories!

This is the last week of the first 9 weeks, so attendance is especially important. Last week, Piney Woods had 95% attendance! If we can reach 96% or higher this week, we will celebrate with a PAJAMA DAY!

This Week at Piney Woods
  • October 7: 📸 Fall Picture Day
  • October 8: 🌎 Dress Up — Our Roots, Our Story (Hispanic Heritage)
  • October 9: 🎀 Pink Out — Dress in PINK from head to toe!
  • October 9: 📝 End of the First 9 Weeks

Let’s finish the 9 weeks strong! Every day counts, and we want our students here, learning and growing with us.

With gratitude,
Mrs. Hill
Principal, Piney Woods Elementary

Help Us Fill the Kitchen for Men (& Women) Who Cook!
Our October 24 fundraiser needs more chef teams, and you don’t have to be a chef—or a Splendora ISD employee—to join the fun. Gather friends, family, or coworkers to prepare a favorite dish and decorate your booth. Teams donate their time, food, and booth décor, helping make the evening a fundraiser for Splendora students and educators. If you know someone who would love to participate, please help us spread the word!  Reach out to Janet Sinclair (Jsinclair@splendoraisd.org) to sign up or for more info!

In Case You Missed It: Splendora Alumni Welcome Our New Teachers
The Splendora High School Class of 1980 helped us give each of our 19 first-year teachers a $200 Amazon gift card to use as they begin their teaching careers. What a thoughtful way for Wildcat alumni to welcome the next generation of educators!
We’re grateful to the Class of 1980 for showing our teachers that the Splendora community is behind them from day one. Are you a Splendora alum who would like to give back? Reach out to us at educationfoundation@splendoraisd.org — we’d love to help you find a way to support today’s Wildcats!
