A Note From the Principal

Dear Piney Woods Elementary Families,

Just a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day. We hope you enjoy the long weekend with your family!

We are also looking forward to welcoming our grandparents to campus for Grandparents Breakfast this Thursday and Friday! We can’t wait to celebrate these special family members and make some wonderful memories together!

Attendance Matters. Be here! All Day, every day!

Attendance Matters

For the 2026–2027 school year, our goal is to reach 96% attendance! Regular attendance is essential to your child’s academic growth, success, and engagement in learning.
Attendance notes can be sent directly to the Attendance Office at PWEattendance@splendoraisd.org.

District Attendance Challenge: At the end of the school year, all students who maintain perfect attendance from bell to bell throughout the entire school year will be rewarded with a field trip to Splendora Skating Rink!

Students arriving after 8:35 will be marked tardy and must be accompanied by an adult to the front office.

Pre-Registration Closes at 3:00PM on Tuesday, September 8th.

Email registrations will not be accepted.

Important: Your ID must be scanned into our system to complete registration. If your ID has not been scanned, please stop by the Piney Woods Front Office between 9:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. Monday-Friday before September 8th.

Grandparents may attend only on their student's designated grade-level day and must be listed in Skyward.
  • September 10: PK - 2nd Grade @ 7:50 - 8:30
  • September 11: 3rd - 5th Grade @ 7:50 - 8:30

We can't wait to celebrate our wonderful grandparents!

Quest For Excellence
26-27 UIL Academic Competition

Calling 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th-grade students to join our UIL, Academic Teams! The competition will be held on Saturday, January 23rd, 2027. Coaches have already begun recruiting, and teams have a limited number of participants. Scan the QR code on the flyer below if your child is interested in trying out for a team!

Gather Your Team and Get Cooking!
The Splendora ISD Education Foundation’s Men (& Women) Who Cook fundraiser is coming up Saturday, October 24, at The Nathaniel Center—and we are looking for more chef teams!
Parents, staff members, friends, businesses, and community groups are all invited to put together a team and serve a favorite appetizer, entrée, side, drink, or dessert. No professional cooking experience is required. This is simply a fun way to represent your campus or organization, connect with our community, and help create more opportunities for Splendora ISD students and teachers.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available beginning at $200. To learn more about entering a chef team or becoming a sponsor, contact Katie Key at kkey@splendoraisd.org.

Campus Information

  • Campus Visitors: Must present valid ID and sign in.
  • Afternoon Transportation: After Monday, August 17th all transportation changes must be communicated with PWE front office in writing.
Breakfast & Lunches
  • Every child will receive free breakfast & lunch for the 26-27 school year.
  • You can use this link to add money to their account for snacks & extras. https://www.schoolcafe.com/splendoraisd
  • When visiting for lunch, you may only be provide food for your student. Only those listed on your students' skyward can bring lunch to your student.

Transportation

Morning Drop-off Time:
  • Enter and exit using Entrance H off FM 2090.
  • Students cannot be dropped off until 7:50 am. For student safety, please pull up to the side door.
  • After 8:35 am, students are counted tardy and must be dropped off at the front of the school.
Afternoon Dismissal:
  • Enter using Entrance G off FM 2090. Follow the signs. Stay to the right of the driveway.
  • Pass the crossover driveway, continue to the tree line, and turn around.
  • Display your car rider tag clearly.
  • Note: If you do not have a tag, you must park and pick up your car rider tag in the front office.
  • If arriving before 4:00 PM: Stop and wait before the crossover driveway.
  • At 4:00 PM: Pull around to the side of the building and wait. 
  • Exit using Entrance H off FM 2090.
Early Check-out:
  • If your child has an appointment, you must check them out before 3:30 pm.
Transportation Changes:
  • Changes must be submitted in writing by 2:30 pm.
  • You may send a handwritten note with your child or email the front office at pwetransportation@splendoraisd.org. For safety and security, we cannot accept transportation changes over the phone.
